Michelle Darnell became aware of the foreclosure crisis in 2010. She spent several months researching the history of the situation and listening to stories of families who had been devastated by the economic recession. She toured homes where it appeared that people had “walked out of their homes with the shoes on their feet.” Her own family was impacted economically as well.

Because of this and after discovering the Gandhi quote “BE the change you wish to see in the world.” She became determined to advocate for homeowners and be a voice for the voiceless. This led her to the Stafne Law firm in 2011.
Since then she has worked representing homeowners in the WA Foreclosure Fairness Act program and has assisted attorneys with foreclosure defense litigation. She has been a citizen lobbyist working to amend the Deed of Trust Act to restore justice to homeowners. She has run for legislative office twice, most recently in 2016; earning 29.8% as a Third-Party candidate.
She is now back at the Stafne Law firm and also working with the Garden Alliance, a organization of “People helping People.” Michelle says “The government won’t solve our problems. The banks won’t solve our problems, the church as an institution won’t solve our problems. WE must empower people and communities to BE the change they wish to see.” This is why she is proud and honored to work for the Stafne Law Firm to help homeowners and others defending their rights.
